Description
This figure displays both the magnetic polarity and ocean depth of a profile taken perpendicular to the Reykjanes Ridge at varying longitudes. The current time period (at 0 Ma) represents the spreading center, so seafloor up to 10 Ma is located in a symmetrical formation on each side of the mid-ocean ridge. |
|
Instructions Identify correlations between the depth of the ocean, the distance from the ridge, as well as the magnetic polarity value and strength in this figure. |
