The observed Bouguer gravity anomalies on Atafu atoll in the Tokelau Islands are consistent with the calculated effects of an island platform of density 2.35 Mg/m (super 3) containing a basaltic core of density 2.90 Mg/m (super 3) capped by 0.5 km of coral of density 2.30 Mg/m (super 3).
