Text file contains absolute plate velocity vectors for every 0.5deg grid node over the entire Earth. The velocities are derived from a model (GSRM-APM-1) that minimized the global misfit between surface relative plate motions and the directions of shear wave splitting orientations underneath oceans and cratons. Unlike most previous absolute plate motion models, GSRM-APM-1 is not based on hotspot track data.
