Day 43 - November 30, 2018

Reports

Today was a busy day!

We had our final day of student presentations. Kaya gave a talk about geothermobarometers, or methods to determine the original formation pressures and temperatures of metamorphic and igneous rocks. Our last presentation was Don—he presented geochemical analyses he had performed on a lunar sample. These were two great projects to end our presentations on!

We finished Dredge 30, and we managed to dredge Dredges 31 and 32 as well! They all were also on Adhara Escarpment, so we didn’t have to survey much or travel very far. We’re now on our way back to Montevideo. Next stop: the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) of Uruguay and Brazil where we’ll have to stop logging data. After that will be the port of Montevideo.
