Description
This NOAA chart is for use with the Latitude/Longitude outlined in the Lesson Plan for Day 3 of the series A Week of Science at Sea. This lesson introduces students to concepts of the global geoid, the basic form of the world latitude and longitude grid, and how to express and find a location using this system.
There is a second video for today that discusses this in-class exercise, titled "Latitude and Longitude." Before watching the second video, put a full sized printout of this chart (map), straightedges, and markers or pencils on the desks with the students.

Instructions This chart is reduced, but large enough to be printed in large format for today's exercise. If a full sized version is needed (a PNG file) please write to the authors. Note that these charts can also be purchased at marine supply stores. |
