Update! The dredge was, in fact, not empty. Gina, one of the great MTs on the ship, found rocks at the bottom of the dredge bag as we were preparing dredge 12 on the deck. They check the dredge bag and chain before every dredge, but we will do our best to make sure this doesn’t happen again! Dredge 12 struggled with the seafloor three times, but each time it broke free after 5 minutes.
