Last day of dredging. Overnight, we brought in dredge number 43, a variety of tectonized rocks from the Southwest side of Turtleback Seamount. Then, our last dredge was lowered to the Southwest of Fos Bank, up the edge of a fracture zone. This dredge came on deck with at least 800 lbs of mostly fresh basalt, with a few other rock types mixed in. A fitting end to a very successful expedition: 44 dredges, only 4 that were effectively empty (over 90% success rate), and no dredges lost on the seafloor. A great job by all of the participants: scientists, restechs, and crew!
