Medea, Jason's wife
Medea hangs on the wire between Jason and the mother ship to stabilize the cable and keep it away from Jason's work area. Without Medea the heave of the ship could cause Jason to move up and down while trying to do delicate work. With sufficient slack to prevent the cable from pulling on Jason it is possible that the cable would drift across Jason or its work area. Note the thrusters and down looking camearas on Medea. The mythical Medea was Jason's wife. With Medea's help Jason was able to get the golden fleece.
