Royal Society Range
Description: Our flight to Taylor Valley took us along the Royal Society Range, a mountain range that is part of the Transantarctic Mountains that separate Antarctica into East and West Antarctica. It also forms a "dam" against the Antarctic polare ice sheet that spills some ice across these mountains in some major glaciers (Ferrar and Taylor being amongst them).
