1 General Errors
1.1 Database Errors
1.1.1 Can't Connect to Database
This is a server-side error that occurs when an effort to connect to the database ultimately failed.
The webmaster is notified each time this error occurs. Generally, database connection problems are short-lived. Attempting to reload the page in your browser window may result in a successful connection.
1.1.2 Can't Prepare/Execute SQL Statement
Problems resulting in this error are due to parameter values not being received or some other database error. This is due to a problem on the server side.
The webmaster will be notified any time an error of this type occurs, and will look into fixing the problem.
1.1.3 Data Fetching Terminated Early by Error
This error occurs when some unforeseen error occurs during a database query operation. It can occur for a number of reasons. Since it is normally an intermittent problem, you should click the Back button and try to perform your query again.
The webmaster will be notified any time an error of this type occurs, and will look into fixing the problem.
1.1.4 No Search Criteria Specified
When a search is performed, you must specify certain criteria that you are looking for. The type and number of query elements depends on the particular search being performed, but each search normally requires at least one search field to be filled in or selected.
To resolve this problem, click the Back button and specify at least one search criteria before clicking the Continue button.
1.1.5 No Matches
This message indicates that no database records were found that meet your specific search criteria. In most cases, your search may be too specific. By removing or changing some of your criteria to broaden your search, records may be found.
1.2 I/O Errors
1.2.1 No Files Were Selected for Downloading
This message indicates that you clicked the Continue button in the download form without selecting any files (normally done by checking the appropriate checkboxes). You must select at least one file for downloading. Click the Back button and select at least one file in the download form before proceeding.
1.2.2 Missing File(s)
An error of this type occurs when one or more files that you are attempting to download can not be found in the appropriate location in the EarthRef file structure. This is an uncommon error, but it means the file(s) that are missing are unavailable for download. You will still be able to download any other files, if any, that you had selected to download.
The webmaster will be notified any time an error of this type occurs, and will look into fixing the problem.
1.2.3 No File Extension Found for File
This is an uncommon error that indicates that the name of the file you are attempting to download does not contain a file extension (such as .xls, .gif, or .mb). The reason for this error may be one of many. This error will only occur if you are attempting to download a single file, because the mime type of the file must be known in order to display the download dialog box in your browser.
This is a fatal error, and you will unfortunately be unable to download the specified file.

1.2.4 No File Name Found
This is an uncommon error that indicates that the name of the file you are attempting to download was not received by the download script. The reason for this error may be one of many. This error will only occur if you are attempting to download a single file, because the name of the file must be known in order to display the download dialog box in your browser.
This is a fatal error, and you will unfortunately be unable to download the specified file.

1.2.5 No Mime Type Found for File Type
This is an uncommon error that indicates that the name of the file you are attempting to download contains a file extension (such as .xls, .gif, or .mb) that is unrecognized. This error will only occur if you are attempting to download a single file, because the mime type of the file must be known in order to display the download dialog box in your browser.
This is not a fatal error, and you will still be able to download the file, although in a .zip file.

1.2.6 Could Not Open File for Reading/Writing
This is a server-side error that occurs when the script attempts to read or write to a file in the EarthRef file structure, but is unable to. This may occur for various reasons. It is an uncommon error, but unfortunately means that the operation you are trying to perform can not be done at this time.
The webmaster is always notified of this type of error and will work on resolving this problem.
1.3 Other Errors
1.3.1 Couldn't Construct/Fill in Template
This is an uncommon server-side problem that occurs when the script you are accessing attempts to build a page to display, but encounters an error. It is a fatal error that unfortunately means you will be unable to perform the operation at this time.

1.3.2 No Parameters Received2
This error may occur when you are attempting a search or other operation, but have not specified any values in a form. It may also indicate a server-side problem, in which case, a failure will occur if tried again. If you believe you have left a value out of a form, click the Back button and attempt the operation again.

1.3.3 Error Transferring File
This error may occur when you are attempting to upload a file. It is an uncommon error, but may occur for a variety of reasons from a file or browser problem to Internet interference. In most cases, if you attempt the upload again, you will not encounter this error.

1.3.4 Username/Password Not Received
Some areas of the web site require username and password authorization before allowing users access to them. If you are attempting to log in and you receive this error, you may have submitted the login form without completing the username and password fields. Click the Back button, fill in the form, and click the Continue button again.
If you do not yet have a username and password, please click on the Register tab to create an account.
1.3.5 Mail ID Not Received
This server-side error indicates a problem in the incoming parameters received by the script, or a database issue. Unfortunately, it is a fatal error, because the script you are attempting to access requires login authorization.

1.3.6 Upload Path Not Received
This is an uncommon error that may occur when you are attempting to upload a file. It occurs because the parameter indicating where to place the file in the file structure is not received. Unfortunately, this is a fatal error, and it means that you will be unable to upload your file at this time.

1.3.7 Allow Overwrite Not Received
This is an uncommon error that may occur when you are attempting to upload a file. It occurs because the parameter indicating whether the file you are uploading should allow overwrites is not received. Unfortunately, this is a fatal error, and it means that you will be unable to upload your file at this time.

1.3.8 File Name Not Received
This is an uncommon error that may occur when you are attempting to upload a file. It occurs because the parameter indicating the name of the file you are uploading is not received. This may occur because you have not specified a file to upload. Click the Back button and use the Browse... button in the file upload field to locate the file on your local machine, and click Continue. This may resolve the problem; if not, you will unfortunately be unable to upload your file at this time.

1.3.9 File Handle Not Initialized
This is an uncommon error that occurs when you are attempting to upload a file. It indicates a problem with the upload mechanism on the server side. It may be an intermittent problem, and you may attempt to upload the file again by clicking the Back button and re-submitting the form. If the error persists, it means you will unfortunately be unable to upload your file at this time.
