Hawaiian Volcanoes Field Course 2010 View from Kilauea Iki Overlook at Kilauea Iki crater and Pu'u Pua'i with Kilauea crater (smoke plume) and Mauna Loa in the background. Pu'u Pua'i is the cone of tephra formed by a large lava fountain. The eruption also caused a lava lake to form in the crater.
