Two dive huts near McMurdo are placed for environmental research and as a convenient location for test dives. The image shows the jetty that is used for water intake for the station and one dive hut is right offshore from the jetty, and another one is more in the distance to the left of the picture. This dive site is called Dayton's wall, named after Scripps' diving pioneer Paul Dayton who was amongst the earliest divers in McMurdo.
