Description
Groundmass 40Ar/39Ar age for the oldest Pacific oceanic floor at ODP Site 801C in the Pigafetta basin. Sample 801C-31R-4 138-143 cm is sampled from the lower tholeiitic massive flows at 757 mbsf. This experiment has been carried twice to enhance the resolution of the 40Ar/39Ar age plateau. This ZIP archive contains the ArArCALC v2.2 age calculation file and the same file in the Microsoft Excel 2000 format. |

Instructions The ArArCALC.log file is included in this ZIP archive containing the definition of the irradiation constants and is required to reproduce the calculations in ArArCALC. To do so replace the ArArCALC.log file in the ArArCALC\Program directory. Be certain to make a back-up of your current ArArCALC.log file before replacing this file on your system. |

Project -- G-cubed.org Themes -- Oceanic Inputs to the Subduction Factory This theme focuses on the raw materials fed into the subduction factory. Papers may emphasize the geophysical and geochemical aging of the oceanic crust, the composition of marine sediments entering trenches, seawater fluxes into layers 1-3 of the oceanic plate, novel geochemical tracers, and results from recent ODP drilling. |
