Description
Map of the magnetic anomalies located off of the coast of the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. Color coded magnetic stripes indicate the age of the seafloor, with the oldest material located the farthest from the Juan de Fuca ridge. The thick dashed lines refer to the Juan de Fuca (northwest) and the Gorda (southeast) spreading centers, and the smaller dashed lines indicate transform faults that have caused disformation and off-setting of the magnetic seafloor location. |
