Description
We present two new global geomagnetic field reconstructions, the SHAWQ-Iron Age and the SHAWQ2k, based on a critical revision of the global archeomagnetic and volcanic dataset. The new models provide an improved description of the geomagnetic field during the last three millennia and yield interesting outcomes about the emergence and development of the Levantine Iron Age Anomaly (LIAA) and the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA). Here we provide the Gauss coefficients and their uncertainties (65% of confidence), together with executable file for evaluating the field in time and space. |

Instructions 1. Download the file psvc_shawq_family.p. 2. Put the file in your Matlab directory (e.g. C:\Matlab\work\shawq_family\). 3. Execute the program, writing: >> psvc_shawq_family 4. The program asks you for different options. 5. As results, you will obtain a new file (.dat) with a palaeosecular variation curve. This file will be generated in the same directory.
If you want to use directly the Gauss coefficients of the models, you can find them in the Excel files (coefficients and uncertainties (65% of confidence)).
