Description
GGFMB: a global, time-dependent model of the geomagnetic field for the period between 700 and 900 ka.
The.zip (compressed) file consists of the dipole coefficients (g01, g11, and h11), the dipole moment (DM), and the average paleosecular variation (PSV) index, evaluated every 50 years. Also, all Gauss coefficients of the GGFMB model are included. In addition, the zip file contains the FORTRAN source codes: (1) "GGFMB_coeffs.f" to obtain the spherical harmonic coefficients for an individual age; and (2) "GGFMB_predfield.f" to obtain time series field predictions of declination, inclination, and intensity.
Details regarding the model can be found in the following publication: Mahgoub, A. N., Korte, M., & Panovska, S. (2023). Global geomagnetic field evolution from 900 to 700 ka including the Matuyama-Brunhes reversal. Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 128, doi: 10.1029/2023JB026593"
