Description
GGFMB: a global, time-dependent model of the geomagnetic field over the 700-900 ka period. Details about the model can be found in the publication: Mahgoub, A. N., Korte, M., & Panovska, S. (2023). Global geomagnetic field evolution from 900 to 700 ka including the Matuyama-Brunhes reversal, submitted. The animation includes the following quantities (ordered by row): field intensity at Earth's surface; global PSV index variation; radial field at the core-mantle boundary (CMB); magnetic field inclination; Virtual Geomagnetic Pole (VGP) pdf; radial field at the CMB in polar projection; time-series of the dipole moment, dipole axis latitude and first three Gauss coefficients; time-series of the global average PSV index, dipole and non-dipole power; and the CMB spectrum. |
