Description
This upload contains the 40Ar/39Ar geochronology age determination of sample 192-1185A-10R-3W 40/55 (192-1185A-10R-3W 40/55) from Ontong Java Plateau in Western Pacific Ocean (Ontong Java Plateau) and was calculated using the ArArCALC freeware. The preferred age of 110.86 ± 0.21 Ma is the combined age plateau and is interpreted as the eruption age of the sample. Combined eruption age plateau from the eruption age plateau from 1185A and the top sample from 1185B (both are from the Kroenke geochemical group). The age determination was carried out on a sample of basalt (plagioclase) in an incremental heating experiment and using the bulk laser heating extraction method. The analyses were run on a ARGUS-VI mass spectrometer and the ages were calculated relative to flux monitor FCT-NM (5A6-21) (sanidine) with an age of 28.201 ± 0.082 Ma. This sample was collected by Peter Davidson (davidspe@oregonstate.edu). Sample Description: Full standard leach + 5min 5% HF. Sample Treatment: One sample from hole 1185A and one sample from hole 1185B. |

Both the XLS and PDF files are for easy viewing in Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat Reader, whereas the AGE file is readable by the ArArCALC software only and the XML file is generated for the GEOCHRON online database project.
