Description
Metadata is structured information that describes, explains, locates, or otherwise makes it easier to retrieve, use or manage an information resource. Metadata is often called data about data or information about information. This PDF tells us what metadata is, what it does, how it is used in the library environment and it is a source for other metadata schemes, websites, resources and metadata tools. This document also contains a useful glossary on metadata and ongoing metadata projects. |
