SEAMOUNTS '09 is the second SBN Workshop to be held on March 19-21, 2009 at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California. The goal of the Seamount Biogeosciences Network (SBN) is to bring together all the diverse science disciplines involved in seamount research, to communicate about and discuss seamount science and to explore innovative ways to network amongst the diverse communities that work on seamounts. SEAMOUNTS '09 will offer a series of invited keynotes and extended discussions that cover a wide range of seamount sciences from solid earth geodynamics to fisheries, emphasizing exploration and the interfaces between seamount science disciplines. SBN and SEAMOUNTS '09 are funded as Research Coordination Network (RCN) by the NSF-BIO and OCE directorates.
