Description
This kmz file contains one component, declination, of the global geomagnetic field model, CALS7K.2 (Korte & Constable, 2005). The file contains the model at 50 year intervals covering the last 7000 years, along with a colour scale bar. The colour scale is polar.
It should be noted that due to the large file size ~200 MB, each component is uploaded as a separate file with a different url. For each component, there are 2 versions, one with a rainbow colour scale and one with a polar colour scale.
However, if you visit the following website: http://pcwww.liv.ac.uk/~alodge/Downloads.html It is possible to download smaller versions of the model files. N.B. The files are smaller because the images are loaded from a remote server instead of being within the kmz file.
The data that produced these model files are available as kml files from: http://earthref.org/cgi-bin/er.cgi?s=erda.cgi?n=949
