In preparation of the second FeMO2007 Cruise to Loihi Seamount, 17 FeMO PI's, post-docs, students and a teacher convened at Scripps for a two day workshop to present science, plan outreach and prepare for the cruise in October.

Experiences from the first FeMO Cruise in 2006 were discussed, the first scientific results were reported and possible operational improvements were discussed. For outreach purposes the design and content of the new FeMO website under EarthRef.org and the Seamount Biogeosciences Network (SBN) was discussed and the outlines for the first FeMO-related lesson plans were made.
