Description
Mauga Umi Seamount is located at 0¿ 29.5' N, 173¿ 8.4' E and is part of the Gilberts Ridge region on the Pacific Plate. The seamount is 2325 m high with the top at -1500 m and the ocean bottom at -3825 m. It has a volume of 1414 km3 and is elongated in a northwest, southeast direction with an azimuth at approximately 137¿. No prominent rifts are seen. There may be some mass wasting along the southwest side of the seamount. Mauga Umi is on the southwestern edge of a plateau, which it shares with Tofe Tolu Seamount.
