Description
Ulu Seamount is located at 0¿ 35.9' S, 176¿ 13.0' W and is part of the Tokelau Seamounts on the Pacific Plate. It is 3762 m high with the top at -1400 m and the ocean bottom at -5162 m. The seamount has a volume of 2115 km3 and is fairly round with slightly irregular edges. There are three predominant rifts radiating out from a central peak. The southeast trending rift broadens out to form three small ridges near its termination. A saddle to the north connects Ulu to Kalevu Seamount. Dredge AVON2-D31 was taken off the south side of the westward trending rift and dredge 32 was taken off the west side of the southeast trending rift.
