Description
Leaga Seamount is located at 1¿ 19.8' S, 176¿ 8.0' W and is part of the Tokelau Seamounts on the Pacific Plate. It is 3366 m high with the top at -1600 m and the ocean bottom at -4966 m. The seamount has a volume of 1582 km3 and is slightly elongated with an azimuth of approximately 194¿. The edges of the seamount are irregular and multiple rifts are seen radiating out from a central summit. To the north is Lelei Seamount and to the southeast is Talofa. Dredge AVON2-D36 was taken on the southwest trending rift and dredge AVON2-D35 was taken on the northwest side of the seamount.
