Description
Talofa Seamount is located at 1¿ 33.4' S, 175¿ 56.6' W and is part of the Tokelau Seamounts on the Pacific Plate. It is 3923 m high with the top at -1500 m and the ocean bottom at -5423 m. The seamount has a volume of 2540 km3 and is fairly round with slightly irregular edges. Rift 2 is not well defined and widens out into a volcanic platform with a depth of approximately -4000 m, which connects to Leaga Seamount. Also on the east side of Talofa volcanism is present. Dredge AVON2-D37 was taken on the west trending rift.
