Description
Mauga Povi Seamount is located at 1¿ 45.1' S, 175¿ 49.2' E and is part of the Gilberts Ridge region on the Pacific Plate. It is 1942 m high with the top at -2900 m and ocean bottom at -4842 m. The seamount has a volume of 125 km3 and is relatively round. It has three predominant rifts, which resemble a triple junction and meet at a central summit. The seamount's elevation is effected on the western flanks by the presence of Onotoa Atoll. There is a 1000 m difference in height between the eastern and western sides.
