Description
Tai Seamount is located at 3¿ 52.4' S, 173¿ 16.1' W and is part of the Tokelau Seamounts on the Pacific Plate. It is 3590 m high with the top at -2000 m and the ocean bottom at -5590 m. The seamount has a volume of 6507 km3 and is very elongated with an azimuth of approximately 121¿. The edges of the seamount are slightly irregular but none of the rifts are very pronounced. Dredge AVON2-D42 was taken on the south side of the west trending rift.
