Description
Sua Seamount is located at 4¿ 16.3' N, 172¿ 26.4' E and is part of the Gilberts Ridge region on the Pacific Plate. The seamount is 2679 m high with the top at -1500 m and the ocean bottom at -4159 m. The Sua Seamount has a volume of 675 km3 and is moderately elongated in a northeast, southwest direction with an azimuth of approximately 53¿. There are two predominant sets of rifts, one oriented northeast, southwest and the other northwest, southeast. The top surface of the seamount comes to a peak. Sua is the southwestern most volcano on a common platform including the Niu and Pulu Guyots. There is a small saddle to the northeast connecting Sua to an unnamed seamount.
