Description
Pulu Guyot is located at 4¿ 16.4' N, 172¿ 53.9' E and is part of the Gilberts Ridge region on the Pacific Plate. It is 3126 m high with the top at -1200 m and the ocean bottom at -4326 m. The guyot has a volume of 7543 km3 and is moderately elongated in a northwest, southeast direction with an azimuth of approximately 144¿. The edges are irregular and there is a small narrow ridge radiating off to the northeast. Along the western margin of the guyot there appears to be some mass wasting. The guyot is mostly covered with corals. The relatively flat top surface of Pulu results in its classification as a guyot. Pulu is the southern most volcano on a common platform including the Niu Guyot and Sua Seamount.
