Description
Palmyra Island is located at 5¿ 52' N, 162¿ 1.4' W and is part of the Line Islands on the Pacific Plate. It is 2715 m high with the top at sealevel and ocean bottom at -2715 m. The seamount is fairly small with a volume of 2167 km3. It is elongated in an east, west direction with an azimuth of approximately 94¿. The edges of the seamount are relatively smooth.
