Description
Umu Seamount is located at 7¿ 43.9' S, 173¿ 15.3' W and is part of the Tokelau Seamount Chain on the Pacific Plate. It is 3394 m high with the top at -2000 m and the ocean bottom at -5394 m. The seamount has a volume of 2489 km3 and is very elongated with an azimuth of approximately 153¿. The edges are slightly irregular and the seamount has a single summit. Dredge 55 was taken on the north end of the northwest trending rift. Dredge 54 was taken on the south end of the southeast trending rift and dredge 53 was taken on the west trending rift.
