Description
Niau Atoll is located at 16¿ 10.3' S, 146¿ 22' W and is part of the Tuamotu Seamount Trail on the Pacific Plate. It is 1190 m high with the top at sealevel and the ocean bottom at -1190 m. The seamount is very small with a volume of 404 km3. It relatively round with little elongation an azimuth of approximately 172¿. The edges of the seamount are moderately irregular.
