The next day and a half were spent on Niulakita. This island sits on a substantial structure below sealevel that is characterized by several fault scarps likely due to sector collapse. We did 2 short dredges on the Southwest rift zone, and got a small number of samples, mainly Mn coated pebbles. A third longer dredge on the South side, which is bounded by a tectonized basin, brought up a large dredge full of hydrothermally (very) altered rocks.
