Z-Drive
The 3000hp motor is the squarish gray box at top center. The drive shaft comes out of the motor towards the camera and enters the gray right-angle gearbox (gray dome just left of center). Power leaves the gearbox via a vertical drive shaft that goes straight down through the hull and out to the propeller. The vertical hydraulic motors on either side of the gearbox rotate the drive housing to turn the ship.
