Description
This upload contains the 40Ar/39Ar geochronology age determination of sample RR1310-D03-23 from Rurutu Hotspot in Tuvalu (Rurutu Hotspot, Tuvalu) and was calculated using the ArArCALC freeware. The preferred age of 61.57 ± 0.23 Ma is the age plateau and is interpreted as the eruption age of the sample. This sample was subjected to a more intense leaching regime and more strenous picking than the other D03-23 groundmass analyses. As a result a small separate was analyzed that produced a more consistant plateau than the other sample. The age determination was carried out on a sample of basalt (groundmass) in an incremental heating experiment and using the bulk laser heating extraction method. The analyses were run on a ARGUS-VI mass spectrometer and the ages were calculated relative to flux monitor FCT-NM (4A26-15) (sanidine) with an age of 28.201 ± 0.082 Ma.
