Description
This upload contains the 40Ar/39Ar geochronology age determination of sample KM1609-D7-11 (OSU-KM1609-D7-11.AK1) from Ellice Basin in East Pacific Ocean (Ellice Basin, Pacific Ocean) and was calculated using the ArArCALC freeware. The preferred age of 100.36 ± 0.17 Ma is the age plateau and is interpreted as the alteration age of the sample. Alteration age plateau The age determination was carried out on a sample of basalt (groundmass) in an incremental heating experiment and using the bulk laser heating extraction method. The analyses were run on a ARGUS-VI mass spectrometer and the ages were calculated relative to flux monitor FCT-NM (1A6-21) (sanidine) with an age of 28.201 ± 0.082 Ma. This sample was collected by Anthony Wessel (pwessel@hawaii.edu). Sample Description: 1 N HCl, 6 N HCl, 1 N HNO3, 3 N HNO3 each for one hour. Sample Treatment: whole rock.
