Description
This upload contains the 40Ar/39Ar geochronology age determination of sample KM1609-D2-14 (OSU-KM1609-D2-14.AK1) from Ellice Basin in East Pacific Ocean (Ellice Basin, Pacific Ocean) and was calculated using the ArArCALC freeware. No meaningful age was determined with this experiment. The age determination was carried out on a sample of basalt (plagioclase) in an incremental heating experiment and using the bulk laser heating extraction method. The analyses were run on a ARGUS-VI mass spectrometer and the ages were calculated relative to flux monitor FCT-NM (1A12-21) (sanidine) with an age of 28.201 ± 0.082 Ma. This sample was collected by Paul Wessel (pwessel@hawaii.edu). Sample Description: 1 N HCl, 6 N HCl, 1 N HNO3, 3 N HNO3 each for one hour, plus 5% HF for 5 minutes. Sample Treatment: whole rock.
