This 2000 edition of the International Stratigraphic Chart is intended to give a clear picture of the present state of the art in chronostratigraphic subdivisions of geological time. It only mentions units recommended for international use. This chart is color coded based on US convention colors. Compiled by the International Committee on Stratigraphy (ICS) under auspicien of UNESCO and the International Union of Geosciences.
