Description
This plate tectonic lesson plan is designed for grades 8-12. It is inquiry-based and provides an excellent overview to this aspect of physical oceanography. Students will have the opportunity to work in groups with published scientific data sets to create and support three main hypothesis. 1. If the planet/continents/plates have shifted then there is a scientifically researchable reason for this movement. 2. If plates collide, then something must happen at their boundaries. 3. If plates move, then it can be supported by scientific data.
