Description
The animation is showing the development of geomagnetic declination at the Earth's surface between 5000 BC and 1950 AD from global model CALS7K.1. The model is based on globally distributed archeo- and paleomagnetic data. It reflects general trends of field evolution while the spatial and temporal resolution is significantly lower than that of models based on modern geomagnetic data.
