Description
The first step in processing the rocks for 40Ar/39Ar geochronology is to cut the rocks in small 1x1 inch cubes. At this stage also the pieces of the samples that obviously are altered will be removed. The tile saw shown in the image is fitted with a diamond blade which cuts through rocks very easily and actually is not sharp to the touch.
