A comparison is made between sulfate production rates predicted by the kinetic rate expression of Hoffman [1986> and measurements of O3-induced sulfate production in real and simulated clouds. Reasonable agreement is found and the Hoffman rate expression is recommended for interium use in numerical models to predict sulfate production due to O3 oxidation in clouds. ¿American Geophysical Union 1987
