We report observations of P to S converted teleseismic body waves recorded with seismic stations located on the resurgent dome of Long Valley caldera. We observe strong conversions occurring at boundaries that could be the tops of small magma bodies at depths of 4--9 kilometers beneath the resurgent dome. This technique could prove to be an extremely powerful tool in the search for magma bodies for geothermal energy development. Our results from a two month deployment of triggered, digital teleseismic recorders are discussed. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1988 |
