Ground based, aircraft and satellite measurements of stratospheric NO2 are examined to establish the long term temporal trend in the column amount. Observations at 40¿ and 70¿ latitude in both hemispheres show a consistent annual cycle but no long term trend is observed in the priod from 1975 to 1986. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1988
