Johnson, P.A. (1989). Central Washington seismicity: Evidence for a reactivated buried continental rift and northwest-trending structural zones. Geophysical Research Letters 16: doi: 10.1029/89GL02885. issn: 0094-8276.

Analysis of central Washington seismicity of the past two decades reveals some interesting features. Shallow seismicity and deep seismicity occur as different geographic distributions. Concentration of seismicity along north- to northwest-oriented trends appears to be related to a buried continental rift and possible associated fault zones. Hypothesized extensions of the Chiwaukum graben and Straight Creek fault systems are plausible structure controls on the seismicity. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1989
