An analysis fo the magnetic properties of ''Phobos-2'' a new type of Soviet spacecraft, is presented. It has been based on measurements carried out on the ready-for-launch spacecraft, and on zero level interpretations of the two magnetometers on board during 255 days of flight. In this context, a method is described for identifying and estimating magnetic disturbance sources under unfavorable conditions. The magnetic moment of the spacecraft and of a spring which is responsible for moving the boom have been determined. An influence of different orientation modes on the zero levels is shown at both magnetometers. The total influence of all sources of disturbances amounts to 2--4 nT per component.
