Seismograms of local earthquakes recorded on the short-period sensor of the TATO station (one of the SRO stations) near Taipei, northern Taiwan are used to determine values of coda Q (Qc). Results show the azimuthal dependence of the values of Qc. A correlation between the values of Qc and the tectonics of the region is determined. The value of Qc is small in the oceanic lithosphere, intermediate in the plate boundaries and large in the oceanic lithosphere, intermediate in the plate boundaries and large in the continental lithosphere. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1990 |
