We present an application of a genetics-based optimization algorithm in an attempt to compute residual statics in seismic data processing. Genetic algorithms have a long history, but have only recently been applied to complex optimization problems. In this paper, optimization results are shown for a synthetic data set to test whether the genetic algorithm can obtain the correct qualitative and/or quantitative features. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1991 |
