Electric field amplitude modulations of Langmuir waves were observed in the auroral ionosphere. The data are consistent with a transverse modulational instability resonant with lower hybrid or ion Bernstein waves. The envelopes appear to have been nearly saturated. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1991 |
